Comfort Keepers of Canton is proud to announce Debra Hibbler, a longtime Cherokee County resident and dedicated caregiver, as the recipient of the Local Caregiver of the Year Award, recognizing caregivers who exemplify compassion, excellence, and meaningful connection in the lives of seniors they serve.
Debra was selected as Caregiver of the Year for the Canton office in recognition of her extraordinary impact on seniors and families throughout the community, which she also calls home. For more than eight years, she has served clients across Canton and surrounding North Georgia communities, bringing heart, dignity, and dependable support into every home she enters.
Her recognition is part of a larger milestone for the Georgia Comfort Keepers team. In addition to Debra’s honor, two other caregivers serving surrounding areas were also named local Caregivers of the Year, and one Georgia caregiver earned the distinguished National Caregiver of the Year Award, one of the organization’s highest honors. Together, these recognitions reflect the exceptional standard of care being delivered across the region.
Debra’s caregiving journey began early, as she helped care for her grandmother, an experience that shaped her understanding of patience, empathy, and dignity. Her spirit of service extends beyond her professional role. She has served as a foster parent, supported children in need, and participated in mission work both locally and internationally, experiences that have helped shape the compassionate approach she brings to caregiving today.
Within Comfort Keepers, Debra is known for building strong, trusting relationships with clients and families. She takes time to understand each senior’s routines and preferences so they feel comfortable, respected, and supported at home. Her caregiving goes beyond daily tasks, helping preserve independence while creating meaningful moments of comfort and connection.
